About Us

Why Two Waves?

Two Waves is more than a name. It’s our story.

We’re two friends who have navigated life together through its highs, lows, changes, and everything in between. Like the ocean, life comes in waves. Some seasons feel calm and effortless, while others challenge us—but each one moves us forward and shapes who we become.

For both of us, Pilates became a way to find strength and balance through it all. It creates space to reconnect with yourself, move with intention, and step away from the noise of everyday life. We wanted to bring that feeling to our own community and create a place where others could experience it, too.

Two Waves was born from our friendship, a shared dream, and the belief that movement has the power to restore, strengthen, and connect us. Every detail of the studio was created to feel like an escape—a welcoming space where you can focus on yourself, find your balance, and leave feeling a little lighter than when you arrived.

Whether you're navigating a big wave or enjoying calm waters, there's a place for you here.

Welcome to our wave.

Meet Kate

Hi, I’m Kate! I’m a longtime Wallingford resident, dog mom, and proud to have been part of this community for over 30 years. Being part of and investing in Wallingford has always been incredibly important to me.

My love for Pilates started back in the early 2000s with Mari Winsor Pilates DVDs and has stayed with me ever since. Over the years, I found myself especially drawn to reformer Pilates and the way it builds strength, balance, and confidence that carries into everyday life. And if you ask me to pick a favorite exercise, it will always be the Pilates Hundred.

The idea for Two Waves began when my friend Tracy and I realized there were limited options for reformer Pilates right here in the Wallingford area. We wanted to create the kind of studio we were searching for ourselves: a welcoming space to move, build strength, and step away from the busyness of everyday life. Inspired by the feeling of being near the water, our vision was to create a peaceful escape that leaves you feeling refreshed, recharged, and a little lighter than when you arrived.

Outside of Two Waves, you can usually find me spending time with my dog, relaxing by the pool, wandering the aisles of HomeGoods, or planning my next trip to soak up the sun in Aruba.

I can’t wait to welcome you to Two Waves and share this space with the community I’m so proud to call home.

Meet Tracy

Hi, I’m Tracy! I’m a Wallingford resident, wife, proud mom to my daughter and three stepchildren, and dog mom to two very loved pups. I'm also a local business owner, and through my cleaning business, I've always found joy in creating spaces that feel welcoming, cared for, and comfortable.

For me, Pilates was love at first class. It quickly became one of my favorite ways to move, build strength, and carve out time for myself. I was drawn to not only the physical benefits, but the way Pilates allows you to reconnect, reset, and leave feeling better than when you walked in.

When Kate and I realized there were limited options for reformer Pilates close to home, we saw an opportunity to create something special for the Wallingford community. We envisioned a beautiful, welcoming studio inspired by our shared love of the beach—a space where you can step away from the everyday, focus on yourself, and leave feeling stronger, refreshed, and recharged.
